Greenwood Honor Society is selling t-shirts to raise money for the Hertzler family as Peyton receives medical treatment for a spinal tumor. Miss Pauling’s and Mrs. Seibert’s friends built turkey traps with their families over the past week. Today they wrote about the steps to catch the perfect turkey using their own trap as the model. They then shared their traps with visitors from around the building.

1st grade joined their 5th grade buddies to make pumpkin pies! They worked on skills like units of capacity, fractions, properties of a circle, time management, and reading and writing! We loved this real life experience! Any unused food items were donated to the food bank.

This week, students in Food Science explored the characteristics of oils. They tested which oil is best for deep-frying fresh cut french fries. Canola oil was the fan-favorite! Olive oil, however, is not recommended.

For the past few weeks, the third graders have been learning about the Native Americans and the Pilgrims. Each day, we read more about the Pilgrims from a book called "...If you Sailed on the Mayflower in 1620" by Ann McGovern. This week, we read about what the Pilgrims ate while on the Mayflower and tried it for ourselves.

Seven Hospitality/Tourism Class members participated in the Hospitality Bootcamp on 11/9 at the Holiday Inn, Grantville. The students made homemade pasta, mozzarella, and chocolate truffles. They also learned about dinner etiquette and interacted with industry members.
