First grade pumpkin investigation! On Tuesday, the kiddos worked through each first grade classroom. In Mrs. Page's room, we learned about the pumpkin lifecycle. At the end, they planted a seed in hopes of starting a new cycle! In Mrs. Seibert's room, everyone explored the different properties of pumpkins. They weighed, measured, and looked into density! In Miss Pauling's room, we learned about the properties of leaves. We researched the reason why leaves change color. Then, we made our own leaf creations!

To wrap up career exploration, first grade had some pretty cool experiences. We met with an MRI Tech. She showed us some amazing images taken by the machine and played the sound for us, too. We also met with our own tech department, Mr. Smith! He showed us all about security systems and how WiFi works. We also got to play around with some exciting STEM gadgets. The local vet, Dr. Lawhead also came for a visit! He showed us his equipment and explained some of the most fun jobs he's been to. Lastly, we walked down to the post office. We got to learn about the routes and the importance of a rural delivery method.
FFA members hosted Ag Olympics for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Even Dr. M-K joined for a sack race.
