Greenwood Middle/High School's 2024 yearbook, "New Horizons," was distributed this week. The book's cover is extra special as it was painted by senior Mason Preston, who consulted with the yearbook staff on the cover. He is pictured holding his original watercolor painting beside editor-in-chief Lia Zurenko, who is holding the finished product.
The staff, including Lia Zurenko (editor-in-chief), Hannah Shiffer and Madison Kurylo (co-editors), Sophia Jezewski, Skyler McMillen, Jada Poticher, Kacy Fegley, Caroline Hartley, and Danica Zurenko, diligently worked on the book, which was nationally recognized. For the seventh year, it received the Josten's Yearbook Program of Excellence Gold-Level award.
Our 8th grade class traveled to Washington, DC to see how topics from their history and English classes have been commemorated through monuments, museum exhibits, and more. They explored the National Mall and American History Museum, as well as The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Natural History Museum, and Air & Space Museum. The weather was beautiful and the experience was priceless.
Today the 2nd graders' little pig houses were challenged by the Big Bad Wolf (a leaf blower). 4 houses remained standing at the end - some new architects in the making!
