Work-based Learning Opportunities Galore! Check out our high school students who received hands-on experiences at three separate events in November. Students attended a Manufacturers' Expo, a Hospitality Workshop, and the Independent Electrical Contractor's Lab Day.

All students in grades K-5 had the opportunity to taste test different varieties of baby greens and lettuce grown from seeds in our Tower Garden during STEM class. Lots of thumbs up! We can't wait to grow more!🌱🪴

9th Graders have been going through the part-time job hiring process by completing job applications, practing interviews and a final interview with an 11th Grader.
7th graders calculated the average speed of their matchbox cars down a ramp to determine who had the fastest car in the class!

Recently, Juniata Valley Bank presented a grant check for $2,000 to Greenwood Middle/High School which will be used to procure additional instructional technology!

Thank you for the donations we have received so far in support of the STEM classroom and the Makerspace. We are still in need of several items. If you'd like to bring in donations during conferences this week, there will be tables set up in the LGI where donations can be placed. The Greenwood School Counselors hosted their biannual School Counseling Advisory Council this morning with school staff, community partners, students, and parents. They spent time sharing about their role, goals, and received feedback on how to improve the School Counseling program to serve all students!
Students in 10th grade English reviewed their reading of George Orwell's "Animal Farm" by creating tableaux or "snapshots" of key scenes. They worked in teams to plan their scenes and perform them for the class. They were not only reviewing the literature, but also exercising creativity and cooperation.
We are off to a great start with our cereal box collection. We have 44 boxes of cereal so far. Remember...we are hoping to beat last year's record of 205 boxes! With conferences this week, it would be a great time to drop off your unopened boxes of cereal for our domino challenge! We will be collecting boxes up until December 19th.
We are officially ONE WEEK away from the start of the Book Fair. Students will shop according to the schedule shown. Book Fair flyers will be coming home throughout this week.
Yesterday, the Global Ag class used their passports to take a trip around the world to compare different counties around the world.
16 students participated in the Sports and Marketing Day with the 76ers and a tour of the Eagles stadium A case study and career panel was held before the game. One student got to shoot a foul shot on the court.
Greenwood Elementary invites all veterans to our program on November 11th to honor their service to our country.
