Reminder that the Greenwood School District will be dismissing early tomorrow, Thursday, February 29th at 1:00 PM. This dismissal will accommodate the high demand to support the Boys Varsity Basketball Team as they play in the District 3 Class A Boys Championship game against Linville Hill at the Hershey Giant Center at 2:45PM.
The 1:00PM Thursday dismissal will be for ALL students, grades K-12.
Our district will operate on a regular full day schedule Friday, March 1st.
Yes, you are seeing that correctly! Our Read-A-Thon event raised $12,025.00! Half of that money will go to our student fund and half of it will go to the fight against childhood cancer. We are so very thankful for how hard our students worked during the Read-A-Thon, but we are also so very thankful that our community saw the importance of what we were doing and supported us in a very big way! First and fifth grade buddies partnered up to celebrate President's Day. They first read about a few of the past presidents. Then, they were given index cards and tape to recreate the White House!

First grade celebrated the 100th day of school in a multitude of ways. They have working hard counting to 100 by 2s, 5s and 10s. Because of this, they brought in 100 mystery items from home. They each wrote three clues for their classmates to guess. They also had three STEM based centers. They built cup towers with varying cup values to equal 100. They also had to use 100 pattern blocks to create a party hat. The last center they had to create the number 100 out of legos.
Parent's Night Out was a HUGE success! We did lots of reading and threw in a couple of dance parties as well! Today is our LAST DAY of the Read-A-Thon. Get your minutes logged and your donations in!
Happy Valentine's Day! We sure know how to celebrate our love of reading at GWDES! Students have logged a total of over 49,000 minutes since the Read-A-Thon began! Below you will find the current leaderboards! It is not too late to log your minutes and make donations! We are SO CLOSE to our financial goal! The Greenwood Wildcats Boys Basketball Team will battle the Halifax Wildcats for the 2023-24 Tri Valley League Championship on Wednesday, February 14th at 7:45 pm. The title game will be held at Susquenita HS.
