Good Evening Greenwood Families,
Over the better part of the past decade, it has been an honor and a blessing to teach many of your sons and daughters, in my Greenwood Middle School English and Reading classes. After transitioning out of the classroom and into the roles of Instructional Coach (7-12) and Athletic Director earlier this year, the Greenwood Board of Education accepted my application for the role of Middle School-High School Principal during its February 8th meeting. Effective today, I have assumed building administration duties. With this transition, I will continue to fulfill my Athletic Director duties until a replacement is approved. My plan is to communicate my new role to our student body with a series of short class meetings tomorrow morning.
During my time at Greenwood, I have been fortunate to build strong bonds and rapports with many of my students. These connections have been rooted in some common threads: mutual respect, clear communication, and a general enthusiasm and excitement for making Greenwood the best place it can possibly be. I assure you: these staples of my instructional style will follow me from the classroom into my new role as principal. My hope is that I will continue to be able to impact each and every student at Greenwood Middle School-High School, just wearing a slightly different hat.
In addition to communicating Greenwood’s shift in building administration, I also wanted to take a moment to clarify my availability to all of the wonderful families in our school district. In the coming days, weeks, and months, I will make myself available to anyone wishing to have anything from a quick phone or email conversation to a formal sit down. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns.
Sincerely,
Nicholas Nastasi
Greenwood Middle-High School Principal
