Dear Parents/Guardians of Seventh Graders:
It is my distinct pleasure to officially welcome your member of the Class of 2029 to Greenwood Middle/High School. Even though those students that attended Greenwood for sixth grade are familiar with the building, the transition from the 6th grade POD into the Middle School can be somewhat stressful. In order to alleviate concerns and help smooth the transition, I would like to invite you and your family to attend an orientation on Thursday, August 17th at 6:00pm in the High School Auditorium.
During the evening, students will receive their schedules, meet with members of our Peer Helper organization, and take a tour of the building. In addition, some of our seventh-grade teachers will be available to say hello and answer any initial questions. These activities will coincide with a presentation for parents that will familiarize you with school procedures and policies. Assistant Principal Matt Bingaman and I will be leading the presentation.
I look forward to welcoming your family to our building, previewing the seventh-grade school year, and opening vital doors of communication. Please do not hesitate to contact the Greenwood MS/HS office if you have any questions prior to orientation.
