The 2025 Holy Spirit Hospital Exploration Program application window is now open. Students who are accepted will spend nine weeks working side by side with doctors and nurses in almost every department of Holy Spirit Hospital.  Aside from being a great experience, students will also be able to earn one credit towards graduation.  Attached is the syllabus and application.  Please see Mr. Tomko for more information. 

Geisinger's yearly Aspirations in Medicine and Healthcare Initiatives (Aim HI) event will be on Tuesday, January 14th from 8:00am to 1:30pm at the Geisinger School of Nursing. Topics this year will include Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, and Cardiac Rehabilitation. In this program participants will get to meet in small groups with health care professionals and engage in some hands-on activities. Lunch will also be provided courtesy of Geisinger. This is a popular event, so space will be limited to 8 students in grades 10-12. Students will need to submit the completed Parent Permission Form to Mr. Tomko by Wednesday, December 17th. On January 6th, Geisinger Hospitals and Clinics will be opening the applications for co-op positions for the 2025-26 school year. These positions are for current JUNIORS only and will be filled on a first come-first served basis. There is a wide variety of openings, from across multiple areas of medical practice. All are paid positions with the pay varying upon the position, and minimum pay is $11.50 per hour. If you are interested, please see Mr. Tomko for more information.

Students who are interested in learning more about medical careers have an opportunity to job shadow at various Geisinger centers. There are a wide variety of positions to choose from. Please take a look at the application to see the opportunities available. While the application process is involved, the experiences are fantastic!
